About MaCohen's and Sea Fare Foods

MaCohen’s, a division of Sea Fare Foods, Inc., is a lifelong Detroit company established in 1959. S.A. Lincoln Sack, the founder of Sea Fare Foods, Inc., has been connected to the seafood industry his entire lifetime. When Lincoln came to the Detroit area he brought years of seafood manufacturing experience and expertise. With the knowledge necessary to run a seafood business and an entrepreneurial spirit, Lincoln set out to run a successful business. Since then, the company has sold products in metro Detroit, throughout the entire United States and even around the world!

From day one the staple of the MaCohen’s product line has been pickled herring. Whether one enjoys the traditional favorites Herring in Wine Sauce or Herring in Cream Sauce or something adventurous such as Herring in Dill or Horseradish, MaCohen’s Herring is sure to please the taste buds. Other MaCohen’s products include Nova Lox, Horseradish, Tartar Sauce and Marinated Vegetables among other specialty items. But that is not all MaCohen’s offers!

In 2011 MaCohen’s introduced a new addition to the product line: MaCohen’s Smoked Fish. All of the smoked products are flavor-infused using a natural hardwood smoke and consistently deliver a tender delicacy.
